This is yesterdays blogpost translated into English:
Hello. After 36 hours without sleep, we have finnally arrived at Santo Domingo. Coming here was an adventure all in itself. At first we nearly missed the first flight from Landvetter, Gothenburgh, which was bound for Amsterdam. When we arrived to Schiphol International, we had 9 hours and 45 minutes to kill. Some took the opportunity to sleep, but since the time was only around 8:00 AM I wasn't tired. Instead, some of us went to get some breakfast. But there was not much more than a couple of restaurants and a taxfreeshop. So we sat in our seats waiting for about 9 hours and listened to music and talked. after a couple of hours the next group arrived, but it was only a brief encounter before their plane to New York was leaving. But after a few hourswe lost track of time, and suddenly we had to leave for the gate. Said and done, after a walk of 20 minutes we arrived to the gate and of course it was a nightmare to get aboard. We were going to the U.S...
We arrived on time to JFK International, but the immigration queue was still waiting for us. The queue itself wasn't very long, about 5 people. But after 10 minutes of queuing the first in our group came to the front and we were told we needed to have a visa to change terminal. So the whole group began writing on the Visa applications(?). One by one we got through to the other side. My turn came, and I had to show them a proof of employment(none of us had one). Of course i told him i was only a student on the school and we were not employed. And... I should not have said that. So he started telling me that you had to know what you were doing in the U.S. and yada, yada, yada... Finnaly he approved the request and opened a page in my passport.Oh. That happened to be the page with my U.S. Visa for our visit to Florida, and suddenly there was no problem. And this was after he scanned my prints and my name popped up on his screen. So, i got my checked in bagage, and now it was not much time before our flight which was suddenly changed to go via San Juan in Puerto Rico. So there was a couple of hours there before the flight to Santo Domingo. It's good to have freewatch tonight.
